Buying rose seedlings will not disappoint you or reduce your enthusiasm for growing these flowers if you choose reliable varieties that are suitable for beginner gardeners.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh listed the qualities that are worth paying attention to.
Beginner gardeners, as a rule, do not have enough experience in creating high-quality winter shelters for roses, which means that they need to choose varieties with increased winter hardiness.
Sometimes summer residents face the death of the above-ground part of the rose. This often happens due to unsuccessful wintering or spring sunburn. If the rose bush is able to intensively grow stems, it will be able to recover quickly.
A sick plant will not only not decorate the garden, but will also not be able to successfully survive the winter. Due to premature leaf fall, the shoots will not have time to ripen, and the rose will either emerge from winter weakened or die.
This quality is necessary if you want your roses to remain decorative in any weather – heat, rain, wind, etc.
Of course, you won't be able to find roses that bloom all season without interruption. However, some varieties are able to please you with their blooms much longer than others.
For reference
Rose is a collective name for species and varieties of representatives of the genus Rosehip (lat. Rosa), cultivated by humans and growing in the wild.
