Some gardeners harvest buckets of blueberries from their bushes, while others are content with meager crumbs.

You shouldn't get carried away with folk alternative supplements, even if they are three times more environmentally friendly.
The difficulty is not only that the gardener needs to calculate the exact amount of fertilizers, but also that they need to be applied in a timely manner.
If you are late with fertilizing or miss it, at best you will have to pick small berries. At worst, the bushes may weaken.
When to apply fertilizer
The first and obligatory feeding is carried out before mid-April. The main guideline is the swelling of the buds.
The second feeding is during the process of leaf emergence.
The third mandatory feeding is during flowering.
It is necessary to stop applying nitrogen fertilizers until June, otherwise you will not get a berry harvest again.
How to feed blueberries
The easiest option is to buy a complex fertilizer for blueberries.
But if you have some reserves, you can mix 90 g of ammonium sulfate, 110 g of superphosphate and 40 g of potassium sulfate.
Apply fertilizer depending on the age of your plants.
So, for a 2-year-old bush you will need 1 tbsp of the mixture. For a 3-year-old - 2 tbsp, and for plants aged 4-5 years - 4 and 5 tbsp respectively.
Older bushes (over 6 years old) will need 10-15 tablespoons of the prepared mixture.
Conclusion
Only by observing the timing and precise dosage will you be able to harvest a rich crop of berries.
Remember that an overdose of fertilizers for plants is just as dangerous as a lack of nutrients.
