Covered with berries. This simple raspberry fertilizer will provide a record harvest

It happens that even with seemingly correct care of raspberries, the bushes produce small and sour berries.

There may be several reasons, including those related to a specific variety.

But often even the sweetest of them disappoint only because mistakes are made in feeding, watering and pruning.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about the actions that need to be taken to obtain a truly good harvest.

In spring, you should remove the cover from the bushes and install trellises for summer varieties.

It is important to constantly loosen the soil, mulch, water and feed the plants in a timely manner.

Trimming off excess shoots plays an equally important role – this way we prevent the growth of thickets and reduce the risk of disease.

As for feeding, in the spring we give nitrogen fertilizers and ammonium nitrate to stimulate raspberry growth.

If its leaves start to turn yellow, add magnesium.

In the first half of summer, it wouldn’t hurt to spray the plant with a mixture of ammonia and liquid soap.

Let's enrich the soil with potassium using wood ash (either dry or in the form of an ash solution).

The second half of summer is spent fertilizing with potassium-phosphorus fertilizers, which strengthen the immunity of raspberries, and the berries become sweeter.
