It often happens that when growing cucumbers, tomatoes or peppers on a windowsill, the plants suddenly start to act up.
At first, the flora seemed to grow well, gain green mass, and bloom profusely.
But suddenly – for some reason unknown to you – the ovaries began to dry out and fall off.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert from the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about what could have caused the problem.
According to her, if the care was competent and complete, then the plants could probably experience some stress.
It may have been exposed to a draft or an open window for some time in winter.
Or, on the contrary, the container was moved to another room with drier air.
But if the care was not complete, then the list of mistakes that are detrimental to the ovaries becomes longer.
For example, an accident occurs due to a rather long absence of watering and fertilizing.
Or, on the contrary, such a sad result is caused by overfeeding or incorrectly selected fertilizer.
In addition, the plant could have become ill or suffered from pests, which is why it began to get rid of its ovaries.
It is important to remember that unpollinated ovaries can dry out.
Therefore, before purchasing a particular variety of cucumbers or tomatoes, make sure that the plants are self-pollinating.
