If you notice dark spots with plaque, ulcers, warts and other signs of scab on the fruits and leaves of crops growing in the area, then you need to immediately take measures to eliminate it.
The first thing to do is to collect leaves and fruits that show signs of damage and destroy them with fire.
Affected areas must be cleaned down to healthy wood, disinfected using brilliant green and copper sulfate, and whitewashed.
Please note: diseased plants should be limited in organic matter, especially if the disease has affected potatoes. Mineral fertilizers have their own requirements - they should not contain chlorine.
Gardeners all over the world fight scab with a mustard solution, which is prepared from 10 liters of water and 80 g of mustard powder.
It should be used when spraying trees, bushes and potato leaves. The treatment is carried out at least three times per season, and in May and June it should be mandatory.
Potassium permanganate also helps in the fight against the scourge: in this case, 4-5 g will be needed for a 10-liter bucket.
And finally: do not forget to treat the listed crops in early spring with a three percent solution of Bordeaux mixture.
