What to water with soda in the garden, and what is absolutely forbidden: even experienced gardeners make mistakes
Baking soda can be used not only in the kitchen, but also in the garden.
But it is important to follow certain rules. We tell you in what cases soda can harm the garden.
How to use soda in the garden correctly
Firstly, baking soda can be used as a remedy for powdery mildew.
In a bucket of water, dissolve 2 tablespoons of baking soda or a spoon of washing soda, add 50 grams of laundry soap.
Secondly, baking soda is added to copper-based fertilizers to slow its release.
For 10 liters of water you need 100 grams of copper sulfate, 100 grams of baking soda or 80 grams of soda ash and 80 milliliters of liquid soap.
You cannot use soda to deoxidize the soil and prevent yellowing of cucumbers due to a deficiency of nitrogen or potassium. Soda will only make the situation worse.
It is also not recommended to sprinkle soda on the beds to protect against snails, as this can ruin the soil.
