At the end of July, tomatoes mainly consume phosphorus and potassium from the soil.

Also during this period, tomatoes need calcium. A lack of this element can lead to blossom-end rot.

We tell you what fertilizers to use for feeding tomatoes at the end of July.

How to feed tomatoes at the end of July

Firstly, potassium sulfate. A chlorine-free fertilizer, easily absorbed by plants from the soil.

One tablespoon of potassium sulfate is enough for 10 liters of water.

This fertilizer can be combined with other mineral fertilizers, for example, with superphosphate.

If superphosphate was applied in the spring, it should not be used in July.

Two days after phosphorus-potassium fertilizing, it is recommended to add calcium nitrate.

It not only protects tomatoes from blossom-end rot, but also prevents blossom drop.

For 10 liters of water you need 10 grams of fertilizer. Calcium nitrate solution can also be used for foliar feeding.

All feeding is recommended to be done in the evening (after 6 pm).
