If you notice that the leaves of your favorite petunias have started to turn yellow, don’t lose heart – it’s not too late to fix the situation and “resurrect” the flowers.
To do this, you will have to carefully analyze your own actions to determine whether any of the mistakes from the list below were made in the process of growing flowers.
If water constantly stagnates in the flowerpot, this will lead to the root system of the plants starting to rot. As a result, the above-ground part of the flower will also suffer from damage to the roots - the foliage will turn yellow, and the flowers will never appear.
There is an opinion among flower growers that during flowering, petunias only need potassium-phosphorus fertilizers. But in fact, the plant grows leaves every day, so it requires regular nitrogen fertilization.
To provide petunias with everything they need, try the following recipe: dissolve 1 tablespoon of calcium nitrate in a bucket of water and water the plants at the roots - 100 ml per 1 liter of soil.
After fertilizing, water the plants with regular water.
This disease affects plants growing in alkaline and neutral soils, where there is often an excess of fertilizers. Because of this, the leaves turn yellow and die.
To solve the problem, you need to acidify the water with citric acid and water the plants with the resulting solution once a week.
