The beginning of flowering of a crop such as tomatoes should not be missed under any circumstances, since during this important stage of development for plants they vitally need feeding.
If you ignore this “desire” of tomatoes, you can’t count on a bountiful harvest, according to experienced gardeners.
Since organic matter containing nitrogen is prohibited during this period, you should turn your attention to fertilizers with phosphorus and potassium - they are the ones that promote the formation of ovaries.
For this reason, the ideal option would be potassium magnesium sulfate, which contains both of the above components.
You will need to mix 2 tablespoons of potassium magnesium sulfate in 10 liters of water. Water the tomatoes at the roots with this solution, using 10 liters per 20 bushes (i.e. 0.5 liters per bush).
To compensate for the lack of phosphorus, you should use superphosphate. You can simply add the powder to the soil - 1 teaspoon per plant is enough.
Phosphorus deficiency can also be corrected with bone meal.
For foliar treatment, 5 grams of boric acid must be dissolved in 10 liters of water, using hot water, since the reaction does not occur in cold water. The solution is also suitable for watering tomatoes under the root.
