Many people want beets to grow not only bright red and sweet, but also large.
But vegetables are not always able to please us with their parameters.
In order for the beetroot to be of ideal size, the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to adhere to some important rules.
What do they consist of?
The most important point is the acidity level.
While some crops are quite tolerant of acidity levels, this rule does not apply to beets. They will only be able to develop normally if you first carry out soil deacidification procedures.
This must be done before the planting activities begin.
Soil structure
You shouldn’t think that beets don’t care about the quality of the soil: the vegetable will grow large and tasty only if the soil is loose and there is access to air.
Density
It is important to understand a simple thing: a vegetable cannot grow large if it simply does not have enough space. For this reason, it is important to thin out the sprouts.
