Beets respond well to fertilizing with wood ash, but it is important to apply the fertilizer in a timely manner.
When and how to use ash to feed beets, was explained by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
Ash application begins in June; before that, nitrogen fertilizers are used, for example, ammonium nitrate (20 grams of fertilizer per 10 liters of water).
Ash must be sifted before use. Then simply scatter the fertilizer around the plants and between the rows.
After that, we loosen the soil shallowly and water it with warm water from a watering can. Two glasses of ash are needed per linear meter.
Garlic, onions, carrots and celery also respond well to the addition of ash.
Earlier, the expert told how and with what to water roses so that they bloom profusely.
