To get a good harvest of cucumbers, it is necessary to properly prepare the seed material.
How to do this is explained by the expert of the online publication Belnovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .
First, the seeds that have passed the selection for full weight are warmed up. For a month, they must be kept warm at an air temperature of 25 degrees.
Then disinfection is carried out. For this purpose, you can use garlic infusion (30 grams of garlic pulp per 100 milliliters of water).
After disinfection, place the seeds in cloth bags and soak in water for 12 hours.
You can add a teaspoon of nitrophoska and sifted wood ash to the water.
Next, we place the washed seeds on a piece of cloth, moisten it and leave it at a temperature of 20 degrees for two days.
Since cucumbers are a heat-loving crop, they can only be planted in the ground in a sunny bed.
The daytime air temperature should be set at 18-20 degrees, the soil temperature should be +12-15 degrees. There should be no frost at night.
Optimal predecessors for cucumbers are garlic, tomatoes, cabbage and eggplants.
It is prohibited to plant cucumbers after cucumbers and other crops from the pumpkin family.
