If you want to get an effective insecticide that would simultaneously have an acaricidal effect, i.e. would fight ticks and suppress the development of harmful nematodes, you have come to the right place.
In this article, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh shared the recipe for exactly this preparation, assuring that in terms of effectiveness it will not be inferior to the compositions that are sold in garden stores.
Another couple of advantages: the product has low toxicity, which makes it safe for both humans and animals, and it can be used to treat seedlings and indoor plants.
A bio-preparation is being prepared from tansy, which you can probably find in your property.
Fill a clean container (let it be a jar) with inflorescences and stems, tightly tamp the plant material and fill to the brim with alcohol or vodka.
Close the container tightly with a lid so that no air gets inside, and leave it in a dark place at room temperature for a month.
One tablespoon of tansy alcohol extract should be dissolved in a liter of water before use.
Use the product for watering (necessarily on damp soil) or spraying plants, and to enhance the effect, you can add an adhesive - one teaspoon of green soap is enough.
The preparation can also be used for soaking seeds (especially umbelliferous crops) before planting. In this case, there is no need to dilute the concentrate with water. 15-20 minutes is enough.
However, it is not recommended to treat plants with fruits with tansy, as they may acquire a bitter taste.
