According to the unanimous opinion of plant growing experts, caring for sansevieria (the scientific name for mother-in-law's tongue) is a real pleasure.

It is only important to have a clear idea of how to properly transplant this flower so that in the future it will continue to delight you with its appearance.

The transplant procedure cannot be called complicated, but it has some features, which were shared by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh .

First of all, before replanting the mother-in-law's tongue, it is necessary to water it thoroughly. This will help to avoid damage to the root system and will make it easier to extract the plant from dry soil.

Then, a drainage layer and some fresh soil should be placed in the new container. After that, carefully remove the flower from its old pot, using a narrow tool if necessary – even a regular pencil will do.

Before planting the plant in a new pot, carefully separate the old soil from the roots with your hands.

If there are rotten roots, they can be cut off and the cuts treated with a disinfectant - special preparations or crushed activated carbon.

Place the mother-in-law's tongue exactly in the center of the new container and carefully fill the roots with soil. Make sure all the roots are completely hidden. Then lightly tamp and compact the soil, but do not overdo it.

After replanting, place the flower in partial shade and refrain from watering for a couple of days. If everything is done correctly, the mother-in-law's tongue should not react to the procedure in any way.
