The first feeding of currants is carried out earlier than most other garden crops. This is due to the fact that the currant root system begins to absorb nutrients earlier than other plants.

Therefore, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises to apply the first fertilizers under berry bushes as soon as the snow melts.

First feeding of currants

As a fertilizer, it is worth using ammonium nitrate - an excellent nitrogen fertilizer that begins to work at low temperatures.

In addition to nitrogen, the fertilizer contains sulfur, which is necessary for currants to bear fruit abundantly.

Two tablespoons of fertilizer should be added under adult bushes, and one tablespoon under young bushes.

Then mix 5 kg of vermicompost with 2 liters of tobacco dust and distribute this mixture around the roots of the bush.

This type of feeding not only provides the plant with the necessary nutrients, but also protects it from pests.

Previously, we talked about what green manure crops to sow before planting tomatoes.
