Many gardeners place boxes with seedlings on the windowsill and do not suspect that this is not suitable for all plants.
An expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist, and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh tells us which seedlings are strictly forbidden to grow on a windowsill.
Firstly, you need to take into account that almost all plants do not like temperature changes.
They are especially dangerous for seedlings of peppers, eggplants, cucumbers and melons (watermelons, melons). But for tomatoes, temperature changes are not a problem.
Secondly, you shouldn’t put fragile seedlings on a sunny windowsill; direct sunlight is harmful to them.
Weak seedlings should be in partial shade. At the same time, with the appearance of the first green loops of shoots, it is necessary to use special additional lighting.
Earlier, the expert explained whether all seeds need to be soaked before planting.
