As a rule, new gardeners panic when they notice that their ficus has started to shed leaves.

At the same time, the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh is sure: in most cases, concern is unnecessary, since such “behavior” of the flower is a reaction to changes in the conditions of its maintenance.

So if your ficus suddenly starts losing leaves, don't panic. Here are a few simple steps that can help save the plant:

First, it is worth analyzing the conditions in which the plant is kept. Check whether watering is carried out correctly, how much light the ficus receives and what is the humidity in the room.

Then create favorable conditions for the plant. If the ficus grows in unsuitable conditions, you need to correct them. Provide sufficient lighting, install a humidifier if necessary, and adjust the watering regime.

Spray your ficus regularly to keep the leaves moist and prevent them from falling off.

Use special fertilizers for feeding ficuses. This will help provide the plant with the necessary nutrients and microelements.

If the ficus has lost a significant part of its leaves, you can cut off its upper part and root it in water or soil. This way you will get a new plant.
