To ensure that pepper seeds sprout quickly and the seedlings grow strong, you need to properly prepare the seed material.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, talks about the most common mistakes when preparing pepper seeds for planting.
If you soak the seeds in a too concentrated solution of potassium permanganate, they will die. The solution should have been slightly pinkish.
Immediately after soaking in a disinfectant solution, the seeds cannot be planted; they must be washed with water.
You can also hold the seeds between damp napkins or pieces of cloth before planting.
It is important to avoid over-watering; you cannot flood the seeds with water.
It is equally important to avoid overdrying the seeds. After soaking, the seed material should be dried a little, but do not overdo it.
Earlier, the expert told what to do if the seedlings have outgrown their roots.
