Peperomia obtusifolia is an evergreen plant with bright green leaves that is native to the tropical jungles of South America.

According to the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , this flower is quite common due to its unpretentiousness and beauty.

If you are planning to add this specimen to your collection of “green pets”, there are a few things you should know about peperomia.

The plant needs regular and abundant watering. Try to avoid over-wetting the substrate, just as you don't want it to dry out.

The approximate frequency of watering in summer is once every 10 days, in winter – once every 2-3 weeks.

To make the flower feel comfortable, use the following “recipe” for the soil: 2 parts leaf humus, 1 part peat, 1 part rotted manure, 1 part coarse river sand.

Pepperonia is demanding in terms of temperature.

Thus, the optimal values are 20-25 degrees, the minimum is 16 degrees. The last figures (16-17 degrees) are suitable for the period of winter dormancy.

The flower will feel best near a window facing east or west.

Don't forget to pinch or trim new stems as they develop - this will help you form a dense, low-growing plant.
