Watering and fertilizing
The first thing to do in the spring is to quench the thirst of the hostas, which they probably have if the winter was not very snowy and the meltwater quickly receded.
Don't forget about fertilizing, which should be started when the leaves grow to about 10 cm. Nitroammophoska can be recommended for this purpose - 1 tablespoon diluted in 10 liters of water per plant.
In addition, you can use humus and peat compost or water with a mullein solution made in a ratio of 1 to 10.
Mulching
Mulching is necessary so that hostas do not experience a moisture deficit, and you have to water them less often and protect them from weeds.
Suitable material is pine needles or cones.
Transfer
Despite the fact that hostas can easily do without replanting for up to 15 years, it is still better to carry out this procedure once every 5 years.
