The Christmas star, or Bethlehem star, also known as poinsettia, stands out from other houseplants with its bright red flowers.
But, as the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh warns, in order for this flower to please the eye in the winter months, you need to follow certain rules for caring for it.
In particular, it is recommended to use natural fertilizers.
Fortunately, preparing the fertilizer is not difficult, because it only requires three ingredients.
So, the recipe for the nutritional mixture for the Christmas star consists of dry yeast, warm water and cow's milk.
Pour 200 ml of water over a packet of dry yeast and leave for a few minutes.
The next step is adding 300 ml of milk. All that remains is to draw the milk fertilizer into a syringe – 10 ml is enough – and water the soil around the plant with it.
This composition should be offered to the Star of Bethlehem once every two weeks.
