The tomato harvest will double if certain measures are taken after the seedlings emerge.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what needs to be done with seedlings to get a large tomato harvest.
First, it is important to trim the roots. When picking, it is recommended to shorten the lower roots by about a third.
This is done so that lateral roots develop more actively.
Secondly, seedlings need to be fed. The easiest option is to add a little garden soil.
Thirdly, the strengthened seedlings are pierced near the root with copper wire. This will help protect tomatoes from late blight.
