Unpretentious and at the same time diverse succulents are an excellent choice for a novice gardener.

If you also decide to try yourself in this area, listen to the advice of the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , who strongly recommends replanting these plants after purchase. This must be done for a number of reasons.

Firstly, the procedure is in some way preventive, because you cannot know what kind of soil was used earlier and whether it is suitable for the plants. Secondly, this way you will be sure (or not) of the health of the root system. And thirdly, to provide the new "resident" of your apartment with a pot that is suitable for its size.

Speaking of pots, choosing the right container is the first thing you should do before you start repotting.

The flowerpot should be 2-3 cm larger than the root system. A mandatory condition is the presence of a hole for draining water and drainage (expanded clay will do), which should fill the flowerpot by a third.

The next layer is soil, which can be purchased ready-made in the store.

When everything is ready, remove the succulent from the old pot, tapping on the walls and bottom, clean the plant roots from the soil, and cut off the damaged ones, rinse in a solution of potassium permanganate and dry.

Place the plant in the new pot and add soil to get rid of any voids. Note: the line where the roots end should be 1 cm below the top edge of the pot.

Watering the plant is done approximately 3-4 days after planting.
