Winter is the ideal time to fight mole crickets.
At first glance, these large insects are quite difficult to catch in the cold season, because they winter in the ground at a considerable depth.
However, there is one little trick that allows you to "lure out" pests and save your plot from them. The life hack works great in winter.
An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist and landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to create a "cushion" against mole crickets.
To combat this dangerous pest in winter, you need to do the following: make traps, which summer residents call “pillows”.
It is enough to dig several deep holes in your country plot and fill them with manure.
As a result, you will get heat sources that will definitely attract the attention of the mole crickets.
When a lot of insects have accumulated in the organic matter, you will only need to scatter the fertilizer over the soil cover. The pests will die in the frost.
It is advisable to dig holes in December, before the frosts become severe and the soil becomes too hard.
But the scattering of organic matter should be carried out when the air temperature becomes very low.
Earlier, gardeners were given other reasons to come to their dachas during severe frosts.
