Why water geraniums with yeast: only experienced gardeners do this

Any plant grower who has been growing geraniums for more than one year will say with confidence: this plant readily responds to yeast fertilization.

Although, to be honest, yeast is not a full-fledged fertilizer. According to the expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , these are rather useful mushrooms that have a beneficial effect on the soil.

When yeast fungi get into a pot with geraniums, they activate soil microorganisms, which, in turn, have a beneficial effect on its growth and flowering.

If you decide to use this type of feeding, be careful and do not overdo it with the ingredients included in it.

You will need only half a teaspoon of dry yeast per two liters of water.

Once you have added the yeast into the water and mixed it well, you can add one teaspoon of sugar.

Well, that’s all – all that’s left is to wait a day until the solution, left in a warm place, has properly infused.

Another important point: geranium should be fed after moistening the soil in the pot with clean water. The frequency of adding yeast should not exceed once every three months.
