How to get high-quality compost in just six months: and no “Baikal” is needed
A compost heap is a great opportunity to get high-quality, and most importantly, budget-friendly fertilizer for your plot.
To speed up the process of rotting the components that make up compost, many summer residents use various preparations.
One of the most effective and, probably, therefore, popular, according to the expert of the online publication “BelNovosti”, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , is a product called “Baikal”.
But experienced gardeners are sure: in such a situation, you can do without purchased additives. If, of course, you resort to a couple of tricks.
First, try to allocate a place for the compost heap at the end of the plot. As practice shows, it is in such places that there is more shade and moisture.
When laying compost, try to mix all its components so that, for example, a layer of peat or manure does not lie as “dead weight”, but rather the process of rotting occurs along with the other “ingredients”.
And secondly, don’t forget to thoroughly water each layer with ordinary water.
