For indoor flowers, you can prepare fertilizer from food waste or improvised means.

Orchids are no exception to this list, and they are often fed milk. It is said that the additive makes even the most “dead” and hopeless plant bloom.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , an expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", an agronomist and landscape designer, told how to feed orchids with milk.

Everyone decides for themselves what to feed their flowers with: store-bought fertilizers or so-called home-made ones.

What are the benefits of milk?

Milk contains potassium and calcium, nitrogen and magnesium, that is, everything that plants need for growth and development.

Milk is available in any refrigerator or store, it is inexpensive, and it is easy to make fertilizer from it.

How to proceed

Take 0.5 liters of settled water at room temperature.

Add 1 tablespoon of fresh milk and stir the mixture.

It is recommended to use homemade milk, not pasteurized milk. This way the feed will contain more useful substances.

Then the orchid is placed in a container and watered with the prepared milk solution, after which it is left in the container and after 15 minutes the plant is returned to its place.

You can fertilize an orchid with milk once every 2 weeks.

You can also carry out foliar feeding.

To do this, add 1 tablespoon of milk (homemade) to 2 tablespoons of water.

The solution is wiped with a sponge soaked in the solution.

After such treatment, the leaves will become green and elastic, and thanks to the fertilizer, the orchids will be abundantly covered with flowers.
