Fragrant, juicy, and pleasant to taste, dill goes well with almost every second dish and, in addition, can be used as an effective decoration for plates on the festive table.

However, in winter, the cost of a bunch of greens is close to the price of an airplane wing, so we suggest you consider such an option as growing dill yourself at home.

If you want to get a harvest of greens by the New Year, you should start sowing in November.

Give preference to early varieties with lush greenery - for example, "Parachute", "Yolochka", "Gribovsky", "Superducat", "Grenadier".

Before placing the seeds in the ground, they should be pre-treated by soaking.

Even plain water will do for this purpose, but you can follow in the footsteps of advanced gardeners and use vodka or hydrogen peroxide to dissolve the essential oil coating of the seeds.

The container for growing dill should be deep. Another requirement is that it should be “equipped” with drainage holes.

As a growing substrate, use garden soil mixed with humus. Alternatively, mix purchased soil with chicken manure.

Fill the container allocated for growing dill with soil, scatter the seeds on the moist soil and “cover” it with a 1-2-centimeter layer of soil on top, then cover it with film and put it in a warm place.

Once the shoots appear, the film should be removed, and the future greenery should be supplemented with phytolamps.
