Experienced gardeners know that literally every second flower standing on your windowsill can be classified as poisonous.
An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh advises not to rush to get rid of such a plant if you suddenly find it in your collection, because there are many ways to “make friends” with such flowers.
First, it’s worth clarifying what harm a “green pet” can cause.
The danger is posed by the plant juice - when it gets on the skin or mucous membranes, it provokes an allergy, which can manifest itself in a mild form - in the form of redness or itching, or in a severe form - up to Quincke's edema and death.
Special precautions should be taken if you are the happy owner of a pet. A foolish pet can try parts of the plant "by tooth", which is fraught with poisoning, paralysis or death.
Hence the first conclusion: the pot with the poisonous plant should be located where no one can get to it: on a high cabinet, shelf, refrigerator, etc.
In addition, when performing such a standard procedure as pruning, use gloves and make sure that the juice does not come into contact with the skin/mucous membranes.
We don’t know if it’s worth it, but we’ll remind you anyway: never try to taste any parts of indoor flowers, either above-ground or underground.
