As you know, after all the harvest grown with such difficulty and, undoubtedly, love has been collected in the greenhouse, it is time to process it.

For this purpose, summer residents use a variety of means, says Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, an agronomist and landscape designer.

One of them is the sulfur candle, well known to many.

However, if we are talking about a polycarbonate greenhouse, this method of disinfection is out of the question.

The whole point is that a sulfur candle can damage the greenhouse frame.

During combustion, a special substance is released, which causes the metal to oxidize and the polycarbonate to darken.

This is the reason why sulfur candles are “persona non grata” when it comes to eliminating pests, fungal pathogens and other infections in a polycarbonate greenhouse.

However, this product is still allowed to be used if you want to treat a greenhouse with a wooden frame and glass or film. And no one has cancelled the possibility of using sulfur checkers in basements or cellars.
