If the area is overgrown with couch grass, it is quite difficult to get rid of it - it also harms cultivated plants, preventing them from growing fully.
This weed is known for growing from a small root into a full-fledged bush.
In most cases, it is removed by digging and manually cleaning the roots - this will need to be done about 3-4 times.
Since this work is quite complex, it is recommended to follow the recommendations.
Take the following tips into account.
- Cover the area with weeds with opaque dark plastic and press down the edges with stones or soil. Remove after three weeks - this method will help get rid of couch grass.
- Herbicides can be used - consider using Roundup. Remember that this product is not safe for other plants.
- Couch grass does not get along well with stronger plants. This category includes oats, buckwheat, rye, alfalfa and corn.
- Use regular cardboard and cover the couch grass with it. Add soil on top and wait until spring. There will be no trace of the weed!
