How to Get Rid of Pea Worm Completely: Basic Rules

Inexperienced gardeners have no idea that you can forget about the existence of the pea weevil, which lays its eggs in pea pods, using just two simple steps.

The first piece of advice given by the expert of the online publication BelNovosti, scientist-agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh , is not to use seeds damaged by pests for planting.

If you find several broken or eaten peas in the bag in which the peas are packed, you should never put them in the ground in the hope of a rich harvest.

Since, as a rule, we do not plant very many peas, it is not difficult to carefully examine each pea to identify damaged ones.

So the first conclusion you should make for yourself is this: there should be no pea worm in the seeds.

However, pests can hide not only in seed material, but also in the soil.

How do they get there? Here, too, everything is simple - if you eat peas where they grow, and do not think twice about throwing empty or wormy pods into the garden beds, then do not be surprised that a significant part of the harvest will be destroyed by the pest.

So try to eat at the dinner table rather than in the garden, and each year plant your pea beds further away from where they used to grow.
