How to Increase Cucumber Yields with Iodine: An Interesting Summer Cottage Trick

Iodine can act as not only a pharmaceutical but also a gardening remedy.

The fact is that on its basis you can prepare a mixture that will become both a fertilizer and a composition against pests and diseases.

Thus, iodine can help to significantly increase the yield of some garden crops. First of all, we are talking about cucumbers.

So, how exactly should you use iodine solution at your dacha?

First remedy

The combination of iodine and milk brings great benefits to cucumbers in the initial stages of plant development.

To prepare the product, you need to dilute a liter of milk drink with plain water 10 times.

Add 20 drops of iodine to the resulting liquid.

It is desirable that the product contain a little laundry soap: this component will help the mixture stay on the leaves longer.

You need to douse the cucumbers with drops of milk-iodine mixture once every 10 days. The first procedure should be done at the seedling stage and at the moment when three leaf blades have appeared.

If everything is done correctly, the garden crop will not encounter dangerous diseases, and at the same time will receive nutrients.

Second remedy

When it becomes clear that the plant has already received full development, it is necessary to change the strategy of using iodine in the cucumber bed.

Now the pharmaceutical product needs to be added to the bread feed.

It is not difficult to prepare such fertilizer. First, you need to cut a loaf of bread into numerous pieces and send them to the bottom of the bucket.

The bakery product should be filled with water. 20 drops of iodine should be added there.

After a few hours, the infusion will be ready. It should be passed through the filter surface, and then used to water the plant. It is recommended to carry out the procedure twice a month.
