According to research by the Royal Horticultural Society, no single remedy works against slugs – we offer 8 methods that are considered effective alternatives.

First of all, try using salt and baking soda, but be careful, as too much salt is harmful to plants.

The so-called beer trap, namely the products of yeast fermentation in beer, can also work. But it is important to choose a beer drink that will contain yeast.

Small eggshells - many gardeners believe that the shells will hurt slugs.

Some people also use copper tape. It is believed that the copper reacts with the mucus, creating an electric shock.

Another way is to use wool balls made from sheep's wool.

An alternative to the shells is a mulch of pine bark, pine cones and pine needles, which prevents slugs from passing through.

Some gardeners use perlite, vermiculite, zeolite, expanded clay and diatomaceous earth, which, when crushed, repel slugs.

The last method is slug pellets, but they are not very effective.
