It is difficult to imagine a beautiful area without delicate petunias of all possible colors.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told about the secrets of obtaining good, strong and healthy seedlings.

The first thing to remember is that petunia seeds should be scattered over the surface of the soil, without sprinkling soil on top.

The process is complicated by the fact that the seeds are very small. In this case, a toothpick will come to the rescue, the sharp end of which will easily pick up one grain and transfer it to the seedling container.

Once the seeds are on the surface of the moistened soil, spray them with water and cover the container with film.

While waiting for the shoots to emerge, do not forget to ventilate the crops - this will prevent condensation from forming and will allow you to monitor the soil moisture.

As a rule, seedlings appear within 2 weeks. If after 14 days the seeds have not hatched, do not wait - sow the petunia again.

When the seedlings grow up, start picking them. For this purpose, you can use small mounds, yogurt cups and other containers that are commonly used for growing seedlings.

True, there is one but - since petunias have an extensive root system, after a month we advise you to transplant the seedlings again - this time into larger pots. The result of all the troubles will be strong seedlings with formed buds.
