Ants spoil the roots of seedlings, harm ripening buds and fruits, and also actively spread aphids, which feed on plant juices and can quickly destroy them.
Therefore, summer residents prefer to take measures to combat insects.
Usually only the most potent insecticides are effective.
But not every gardener will want to use chemicals on his plot. Therefore, it is better to choose safer, but still effective methods.
For example, you can do a simple trick with thick grill foil. You need to unwind about 25 cm of material. The cut should be folded at a right angle by 2 cm.
Next, gardeners and horticulturists recommend cutting the folded edge of the foil in several places so that the foil does not pull when it is wrapped around the tree trunk.
You can also use regular foil, but you will have to use something for additional fixation.
As a result, the foil will become an obstacle for ants, which will no longer be able to spread aphids to trees. If the pest has nevertheless entered the garden, then it is necessary to carry out treatment with a solution of special garden potassium soap and ash.
