Even planting them together with onions, which are believed to be excellent at repelling this pest, does not always help.
But there is one effective way to forget about the carrot fly.
You need to take some regular sand and mix it with naphthalene in a ratio of 1 to 10.
Then you need to sprinkle this product into the space between the rows of carrots.
It would not be a bad idea to put a similar mixture where onions and garlic grow. But it should be taken into account that the product should be renewed every one and a half to two weeks.
Experienced gardeners also recommend adding a little ash to the resulting product. The overall proportion is 2:10:10. This way, the carrots will receive additional nutrition.

Before planting carrots, you should carefully consider the choice of site. It is better to give preference to sunny places that are well ventilated. In this case, you can not even think about the pest.
