Anyone who has ever tasted raspberries on which a bug has sat will never forget this contradictory feeling.

Anyone who thinks that this insect does not cause more harm is mistaken. The pest can and should be fought with all possible means.

An expert of the online publication "BelNovosti", agronomist, landscape designer, botanical artist and art therapist Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told which means are best suited for this.

The insect becomes active in April and does not calm down until the first frosts. It winters in garbage and feeds on plant juice (including currants, gooseberries and other berry plants).

Harm

This is an absolute pest. The bug does not spoil the berries, except for leaving its pungent smell on them. But it feeds on the juice of plants, which weakens them, promotes infection with fungal diseases, and leaves offspring that feed on the juice of raspberry leaves.

As a result, the tops of the shoots wither and dry out.

How to fight

1. Chemical preparations such as "Aktellik", "Karbofos", "Fufanon" are simple and effective. They destroy most pests, but the treatment is carried out before the buds open and before flowering. The preparations are toxic.

2. Biopreparations do not cause harm to humans, animals and bees. You can use "Boverin", "Bitoxibacillin" and other analogues.

3. Folk remedies are effective only if used regularly. The following are used against bedbugs:

  • a solution of mustard powder with water (1:10) for spraying;
  • infusion of onion peel (1/2 bucket) with cold water, leave for 5 days, dilute the concentrate 1:4 for spraying;
  • They plant a plant - black cohosh.

Along with treatments, it is necessary to engage in prevention and not create favorable conditions for the pest.
