Fortunately for those with north-facing windows or shaded by trees or neighboring buildings, there are plenty of plants that can thrive in low-light conditions.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh helped us compile a list that included plants suitable for northern windows.

The first thing you'll see here is geranium.

This flower is famous for its unpretentiousness, and problems with flowering arise only in case of thickening, but not in case of lack of light. By the way, too dense plantings are the reason why pelargonium can stretch out.

Next in line are numerous ferns: maidenhair fern, blechnum fern, davallia fern, nephrolepis polpodium, pteris fern and others.

The most popular fern grown indoors is Nephrolepis. The length of the leaves of this adult plant can reach 1-1.5 meters.

But what about palm trees, you ask, and we will answer – no way.

The north side is perfect for growing date palm, livistona and chamaedorea. What these species have in common is their undemanding care, which consists only of watering, fertilizing and spraying.
