The strawberry harvest may not be of the highest quality, despite all the efforts of the owner of the country plot.
A gardener can carry out full watering, apply fertilizers on time, loosen the soil, protect the plant from adverse weather conditions and still get small and sour berries.
Why does this happen? Why are garden strawberries not large enough and tasty enough?
Most likely, the problem is at least one of the following reasons.
For garden strawberries, you need to choose the most suitable area.
If the conditions are unfavorable, the fruits on the strawberry bushes will form with difficulty, even if the gardener does everything possible to obtain a bountiful harvest.
The plant should be placed in a well-lit place. Also, do not place the crop in a bed where potatoes grew last season.
If the conditions are not met, the bushes should be replanted.
A mistake in choosing a strawberry variety seriously reduces the chances of getting a good harvest.
The gardener must remember that one or another plant variety must be selected taking into account climatic conditions.
If the strawberry bushes are already several years old, then you can’t count on the formation of large and sweet berries.
Plant renewal should be carried out at least once every three years.
Also, one must not forget about the need to remove those parts of the bushes that show signs of disease.
