Lily is a perennial that has unique, but underestimated potential.
Some gardeners, when choosing between roses and lilies, stop at the former. But any gardener who has seen what lilies are capable of would not rush to make a choice.
To ensure that lilies bloom lushly, you just need to feed them properly in the spring.
Spring feeding
In May, when the first shoots usually appear, ammonium nitrate is added. The product is diluted in water - 2 tbsp. per 1 liter. The solution is added under the root.
Protection from diseases
It would not be superfluous for the lily to treat it with Bordeaux mixture. Often, it is diseases that deprive the plant of flowering. But this can be prevented by using a proven remedy.
Summer feeding
At this time of year, lilies are fed with two means:
- ammonium nitrate diluted in water;
- potassium magnesium sulfate – 15 g per 10 l of water.
Potassium magnesium sulfate can be replaced with wood ash - 100 g per 1 sq. m. The product strengthens plants, flowers acquire a more saturated shade.
