Whiteflies (aleurodids) are dangerous pests for many plants, including cucumbers, tomatoes, cabbage, and ornamental crops.

The butterfly is especially dangerous for cabbage. Whiteflies feed on plant juice and can destroy the crop in a short period of time.

Folk methods

1. Ash will help scare away aleurodids - a glass of ash per 3 liters of boiling water. The solution is infused for 3 days, and then the plants are sprayed once every 10 days.

2. You can protect your plantings from whiteflies using ammonia. Dilute 1 tbsp of the product in a bucket of water. Spray once a month.

3. A vinegar-based product can be used daily. For 10 liters of water, use 50 ml of apple cider vinegar and 30 g of soap shavings.

4. Onion and garlic shoots can become the basis for a folk remedy against whiteflies. First, collect the raw materials - 100 g. The shoots are crushed in a blender, then filled with water and infused for 7 days.

Before spraying, add 5 liters of water. The treatment is carried out once every 14 days. Not only the plants are sprayed, but also the soil.

5. Tobacco solution is used both for prevention and for combating aleurodids. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of tobacco in 1 liter of water.

For preventive purposes, treat once every 15 days. To combat pests, plants are sprayed every day for 3 days.

6. Dissolve laundry soap in water (1:6). The resulting solution is used to treat the plantings once every 10 days. However, the plants are not sprayed, but the product is applied to the leaves from the back side with a sponge.

7. For another option, use 2 tablespoons of dishwashing liquid and 2 teaspoons of iodine per 10 liters of water. After mixing, spray the plants.

Useful tips

You can fight the pest without any solutions or preparations. For example, whiteflies have natural enemies - ladybugs. Another option is encarsia, which destroys whitefly larvae.

There are special sun protection nets with small cells that protect plantings from butterflies.
