The most unpretentious flowers
There are flowers that die due to lack of care, but there are also those that grow perfectly without it, delighting the owner with lush flowering or an abundance of decorative foliage. Here are the most common and unpretentious ones.
Peonies
All peonies need is enough sun. However, they can also tolerate partial shade and bloom well.
Peonies have a long rhizome that can get moisture and nutrition from deep layers of soil. This plant does well without watering, fertilizing, weeding and loosening. Every year the bush grows more and more, becoming lush and beautiful.
Old varieties are the most resilient to Spartan conditions.
Hosts
Hostas are amazing because they include a huge variety of plants. They tolerate drought, and many varieties grow even in deep shade, where most plants cannot survive.
If you can't provide regular weeding, choose tall varieties. A large bush with thick leaves can suppress most weeds.
Aquilegia (columbine)
If you have ever been in villages, near abandoned houses, you could see the delicate bells of the columbine. It grows among the grass and no one takes care of it.
If you have planted columbine on your plot, but have not been able to weed, loosen and water it, it will cope perfectly well on its own, steadfastly enduring all adversity.
Cosmos
Cosmos is an annual plant, but there will be no fuss with annual planting. It will sow itself. Cosmos seeds survive the winter well and sprout the following spring. If you have a low-maintenance flowerbed with perennials, cosmos will sow and bloom among them itself.
How to Make Flowers Grow Without Care
In addition to the correct selection of plants, you need to use "long-lasting" care methods. The best option is mulching. Mulch the bushes with hay, straw and leaves after planting, put a layer of bark or chopped branches on top.
As the mulch rots, it will fertilize the plants, weeds will not be able to grow under it, the soil will always be moist and loose. So the flowers can grow without any care at all. You just need to add mulch from time to time.
