Colorado beetles, which appear on our plots year after year, frighten us with their persistence, which they show in destroying the crops we lovingly grow.

Luckily, gardening professionals have plenty of ideas to help them deal with unwanted guests.

Today we will share with you a tip on how to create a special bait with which you can cleverly deceive insects, gathering them in one place and getting rid of them all at once.

A neat trick is to grow potatoes at the edge of your garden beds.

The whole point is that Colorado beetles find fresh shoots and young potato tops very attractive.

Therefore, all that is required of you is to leave a few tubers “in reserve” and plant them in the ground later than the rest.

Since the main plantings will already be older, the beetles will gather on young shoots, and it will be much easier to catch them and get rid of them.

However, there is another way to collect all the beetles in one place, and it, according to experienced summer residents, is no less effective than the previous one.

Take a wooden or metal box measuring approximately 50 x 50 cm, and put a piece of cardboard coated with mouse or rat glue on the bottom. Throw in a few leaves of young potato tops. Once the cardboard is full of pests, it should be replaced with a new one.
