At the beginning of summer, it is advisable to carry out root fertilization of potatoes. This should be done before hilling.

However, applying fertilizers can cause serious damage to the root system of garden crops.

To ensure that root feeding does not lead to disastrous results, the procedure should be carried out in a special way.

It makes sense to pay attention to such a method as “feeding under the stake”.

The essence of the method

A liquid solution prepared from chicken manure, cow dung or urea should be poured into a small depression created with a stake.

The result should be a narrow hole, the depth of which is 0.2 meters.

This depression should be located between two bushes.

If you pour liquid fertilizer into this hole, the garden crop will receive all the compounds it needs.

In this case, the plant roots will not be harmed in any way: they will remain intact. In addition, the risk of root burn will be minimal.

Thus, the “under the stake” method is safe and increases the chances of getting a good potato harvest.
