In order for garlic to grow large, it must be fed with nitrogen fertilizers in the spring.
Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication Belnovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, tells us what fertilizers to use for spring feeding of garlic.
The most popular fertilizer is urea. For 10 liters of water you only need one and a half tablespoons of fertilizer.
However, for the first feeding it is better to use ammonium nitrate. For 10 liters of water you need 2 tablespoons of nitrate.
Another good nitrogen fertilizer is ammonia. For 10 liters of water you need 3 tablespoons of 10% ammonia.
All of the above fertilizers are also suitable for spring feeding of onions.
