Growing chlorophytum is not difficult, as it survives even in the most difficult conditions without any care. But to grow a beautiful chlorophytum, you will have to put in some effort.

This article offers 5 simple steps that will lead to this indoor flower growing lush, healthy and amazingly beautiful. And even beginners in floriculture can do these steps.

Step 1: Lighting

Chlorophytum is most often placed somewhere away from the window, where other indoor flowers cannot grow. But it loves bright light, so it is best to place the pot on a well-lit window.

In this case, the rosette of leaves will be dense, the leaves themselves will be wide, intensely colored, without yellow tips. If the window cannot provide enough light, you will have to use additional lighting.

Step 2: Watering

Chlorophytum needs regular watering, especially in the spring and summer, when the flower is actively growing.
Lack of moisture leads to growth inhibition, yellowing and dying of leaves. The soil lump should not be allowed to dry out, but over-watering can also lead to the death of the plant. In winter, watering should be reduced.

Step 3: Bouquet planting

If you want to get a lush bush, you should plant several rosettes in one pot at some distance from each other. With good care, each of them will form beautiful lush foliage.

You will get a sort of bouquet of several plants. Just remember that they need more nutrition and water than one plant.

Step 4: Fertilize

Chlorophytum needs regular feeding, as it grows intensively. It is best to use fertilizers for decorative deciduous plants. Chlorophytum needs to be fed during the period of active growth - from spring to autumn. Fertilizer is not required in winter.

The plant responds very well to home-made fertilizers.

Option one: dissolve 1 tbsp. of sugar, 1 tsp. of any liquid EM preparation (for example, "Baikal") in 1 liter of water, pour in 1 ampoule of vitamins B1, B6, B12 (can be bought at a regular pharmacy). Feed the chlorophytum with this solution no more than once a month, and it will thank you with a lush cap of foliage.

Option two: if you have a summer house and you prepare a fermentation solution based on green grass for the garden, feed your chlorophytum with it. You need to dilute the fermentation solution with clean water in a ratio of 1:20. It contains a lot of nitrogen, which is necessary for active growth of greenery.

Option three: simply alternate watering with regular water and water from the aquarium.

Step 5: Update

Chlorophytum loses its decorative qualities over time. But since it easily takes root and grows quickly, it can be renewed.

For example, plant new tendrils. Or cut off an old stretched plant, whose stem is bare at the bottom. As a rule, there are already rudiments of roots there. Therefore, instead of transplanting into a larger container, the plant can be cut off and replanted in the same pot, simply changing the substrate.

By following these simple rules, you can ensure proper care for your chlorophytum, which will delight you with lush green leaves.
