Garden and vegetable crops grown on a personal plot require not only the attention of the summer resident, but also numerous nutrients, including nitrogen.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh told how to determine that plants need nitrogen.

To do this, it is enough to assess the condition of their foliage - as a rule, in such a situation the leaves have a pale green color and quickly turn yellow.

If you personally have to face a similar problem, both “folk” and “chemical” methods will come to the rescue.

So, the first ones include infusion of mullein, grass, chicken manure, ammonia, and so on.

The second rank includes ammonium nitrate, urea or carbamide.

However, one cannot lose sight of the fact that not all plants tolerate the introduction of nitrogen well.

Thus, according to experienced gardeners, carrots grow “gnarled” due to an excess of nitrogen fertilizers, eggplants can lose their color, tomatoes can become fat, and cabbage becomes susceptible to such a disease as clubroot, so any fertilizers should be used in moderation.
