The appearance of moles in the garden has both pros and cons.

Representatives of the insectivorous order can improve the condition of the soil cover and rid the area of many pests.

However, there is a serious problem: when creating underground passages, the animal can actually destroy the root systems of garden crops.

Mole control is a complicated matter. Besides, despite all the problems the insectivore causes, you don't want to cause serious harm to it.

Fortunately, there is a humane way to deal with the animal. Moles can be driven away from the site using their well-developed sense of smell.

Plants-repellents

There are quite a few plants that have a rather strong smell.

Sometimes the aroma is so strong that moles cannot stand it.

Insectivores have no choice but to leave the area.

In this sense, the following crops will be excellent “helpers” for the gardener:

  • onion;
  • garlic;
  • beans;
  • marigold;
  • daffodils.

Planting the above-mentioned flora representatives around the perimeter of the plot or in the garden bed itself is a guarantee that moles will abandon their role as pests.
