As is known, tomatoes are heat-loving crops.

An expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist, landscape designer Anastasia Kovrizhnykh spoke in detail about the temperature regime of this crop, which should be adhered to if you want to collect an impressive harvest.

Let's start with the basics, that is, with the seeds. Tomato seed material begins to germinate at a temperature of +15 degrees.

The optimum air temperature for growing tomatoes is +20-22 degrees. This parameter for the soil is +17-22 degrees.

If the thermometer drops below +10 degrees, tomato growth stops.

Plants cannot stand frost and die when the temperature outside is -1 degree.

If the temperature drops below +15 degrees, tomatoes will not bear fruit. However, this rule also applies to excessively high temperatures - above +35 degrees.

Flowering stops at temperatures below +12 and above +30 degrees, and flowers fall off during a sharp cold snap, for example, when the temperature drops from +25 to +10 degrees.
